Sebastian Leal-Arenas is a doctoral student at the University of Pittsburgh. His pedagogical experience and interest in prosody inform his research on the perception and production of speech, particularly as they pertain to second language acquisition. His recent work addresses issues related to the importance of perception, the expression of focus and lexical stress, and the use of available technology to conduct and facilitate research.
