Undergraduate Volunteer at the English Language Institute shares emotional post

Hannah H., an undergraduate double-majoring in Linguistics and French with a certificate in Arabic Language and Linguistics, has been a volunteer teacher in the ELI's Community Conversation Course. She recently posted on IG:

“Emotional post ahead! Today was my last day volunteer teaching at the English Language Institute. This was my first ~formal-ish~ teaching experience in a classroom setting (w/ 18 total students!!!) and I could not have asked for a better group of students and general environment!! As someone w a lot of interest in language learning and teaching, this was one of the most impactful and relevant experiences I’ve had so far in my undergrad here at Pitt  #mypittstory #pittnow #h2p."

The ELI is ecstatic to receive such well-trained and enthusiastic volunteers like Hannah from the Department of Linguistics. Because of our volunteers, the ELI is able to support the Pitt and Pittsburgh community with the Community Conversation Course. Likewise, Hannah’s classroom experience at the ELI appears to be valuable to her journey both at Pitt and beyond.
