Dr. Abdel-Malek, Arabic language instructor, will participate in an invited colloquium on March 21, 2021 on researching and practicing systemic functional linguistics (SFL) pedagogies in L2 education. Myriam’s presentation entitled “Empowering Arabic Learners to Make Meaning: A Genre-Based Approach” reports on Arabic classroom-based research framed by systemic functional linguistics and genre theory. The presentation will show how SFL is accessible and supportive of L2 teaching and learning.
