Dr. Matt Kanwit contributed chapter to the new Cambridge Handbook of Spanish Linguistics

Dr. Matthew Kanwit is an author in the new Cambridge Handbook of Spanish Linguistics. His chapter includes an overview of early work on second language (L2) variation and relevant constructs and issues in the field. It then details common methods used by L2 variationists and presents a review of L2 variationist research on Spanish structures. Finally, it turns to the acquisition of variation in study-abroad contexts and presents future directions and remaining questions for the field. The handbook is now available in Europe and will be released in the US in October.
