Dr. Fricke publishes in Frontiers in Psychology

Dr. Melinda Fricke has published a new article in Frontiers in Psychology entitled “Modulation of Cross-Language Activation During Bilingual Auditory Word Recognition: Effects of Language Experience but Not Competing Background Noise”.  The paper is part of a Frontiers Research Topic called “Examining Modulators of Cross-Language Influences in Learning and Processing.”  The study finds that when recognizing words in the presence of background noise, bilinguals do not show evidence of increased influence from their other language, a finding that runs counter to assumptions made in the research literature.

The article has been published under the Open Access model and is available for free here. (link: )
